Metal Deactivators prevent metal catalysis by binding metal ions and thus preventing the decomposition of products and oxidation in organic materials in the polymer and lubricant industry.
Metal Deactivators in the lubricant industry form a passivating protective film, especially on non-ferrous metals, which prevents the catalytic effect and the transfer of metal ions. In this way, both oxidative attack and thus corrosion of the metal surface and ageing of the lubricant can be prevented.
Metal Deactivators can prevent undesirable chemical reactions by binding metal ions in complexes, thereby extending the service life of lubricants. The metal deactivators of the LUBIO® MD series include with LUBIO® MD 1 is an oligomeric sulfur compound suitable for use in metalworking fluids (MWF). LUBIO is suitable for this application as well as for use in engine oils. LUBIO® MD 3 which is based on a triazole derivative is suitable for the application in MWFs as well as in engine oils. LUBIO® MD 6 is a heterocyclic sulphur compound for use in MWFs, gear oils, compressor oils and hydraulic oils.
