Isocyanate Crosslinkers play a decisive role as a catalyst in the synthesis of carbodiimides. Carbodiimides themselves are known for their diverse applications, including as stabilizers in the polymer and lubricant industries. The synthesis of carbodiimides using isocyanate crosslinkers offers an efficient and versatile method of producing these compounds. The isocyanate crosslinkers from LUBIO® Polykat series are based exclusively on metal-free organic phosphorus chemistry.

Isocyanate Crosslinkers of the LUBIO® Polykat series comprise various organic phosphorus compounds that act as catalysts to enable the crosslinking of isocyanates to carbodiimides. Depending on the LUBIO® Polykat type, isocyanate cross-linking takes place at a temperature between 50 and 150 °C. The individual LUBIO® Polykat types differ in their reactivity and selectivity. Depending on the LUBIO® Polykat type, aromatic as well as aliphatic isocyanates can be converted to carbodiimides.
