Hydrolysis stabilizers for lubricants are covered by our Hydrostab and Hystab additives. When it comes to lubricants, the focus on hydrolysis protection is on ester-based oils. Ester-based lubricants, which have enjoyed steadily growing popularity in recent years, are particularly susceptible to degradation through hydrolysis due to the frequently high operating temperatures and high mechanical loads.

Hydrolysis stabilizers have accompanied Schäfer Additivsysteme since the company was founded and characterises us. The stabilisers of the LUBIO Hydrostab and Hystab series protect plastics and lubricants against hydrolytic degradation initiated by water and acids. The LUBIO Hydrostab series is characterised by effective and long-term protection based on polymeric carbodiimides. In addition, the additives of the LUBIO Hystab series include stabilisers that are produced from renewable raw materials and are therefore 100% bio-based. The use of our hydrolysis protection additives enables the polymers to retain their mechanical and physical properties even when exposed to water, elevated temperatures or the presence of acids over longer periods of time.
