Primary Antioxidants are highly effective stabilizers that directly interrupt the oxidation process in lubricants. During operation, lubricants are exposed to oxygen, elevated temperatures, and mechanical stress. These conditions promote the formation of free radicals, which trigger a chain reaction leading to molecular breakdown, acid formation, and ultimately lubricant failure.
Primary antioxidants of the LUBIO® series act as highly effective radical scavengers in the lubricant system. They react immediately with highly reactive free radicals as they form, converting them into stable, non-reactive end products. This mechanism effectively interrupts the chain reaction characteristic of lubricant oxidation in the initiation or early propagation phase. This significantly reduces the rate of oxidative degradation, which leads to a considerable extension of the oil service life and stabilization of the physical and chemical properties of the lubricant.
